OpenAI and Anthropic are reportedly looking to expand their presence in Europe by securing larger office spaces in Dublin.
US-based AI company Anthropic is said to be aiming for roughly 25,000 square feet in Dublin over the next three to five years, though the exact size may be adjusted, according to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter.
OpenAI is pursuing a comparable space, with both firms currently operating from modest co-working offices in the city.
Anthropic set up its Dublin office in 2024, designating it as its EMEA headquarters, and also operates locations in London, Paris, Zurich, and Munich.
OpenAI started its Dublin operations in 2023 and currently employs about 60 people in Ireland, with plans to grow its team in 2026.
Neither company commented on the specifics of their leasing plans.
Dublin already hosts European offices for major tech firms such as Meta and ByteDance’s TikTok.
