The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited Foundation has collaborated with the National Youth Service Corps and Kudimata, an educational financial community, to provide fundamental financial skills to corps members.
According to The Punch, a recent announcement stated that the NNPC foundation would provide basic financial training to the 60,000 youth corps members now enrolled in NYSC Orientation Camps across the country.
“The program is designed to give Nigerian youths the necessary financial skills for success in life, whether as employees or entrepreneurs,” it stated.
“Over the past several months, over 20,000 Nigerian graduates have received basic financial education and entrepreneurship skills from Kudimata,” according to the company’s chief executive officer, Kathleen Erhimu.
According to the National Youth Service Corps SAED program (Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Development), “we have determined the urgent need to forge value-adding alliances to support it through financial education, business advisory, and empowerment initiatives,” she continued.
The managing director of the NNPC Foundation, Emmanuella Arukwe, asserted that corps members are better prepared to begin the next phase of their lives once they have the information and abilities to make wise financial decisions.
According to her, NNPC was happy to offer access to start-up chances and resources so that our teeming young might fulfill their goals of self-actualization.
