The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited on Saturday refuted the rumours suggesting that its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, has been sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad, told Daily Post in a telephone conversation that the news was untrue.
“It is the handiwork of mischief markers,” he said.
The speculation about the suspension of Kyari came, following the suspension of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday.
The President had on Friday announced the immediate suspension of the embattled CBN Governor and subsequently replaced him with Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, who was the Deputy Governor (Operation), before his! appointment as an acting governor of the bank.
