The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited website has experienced technical difficulties due to an overwhelming number of job applications, causing slow load times and access issues for prospective applicants.

This disruption follows NNPC’s recent announcement of a major recruitment drive, seeking skilled individuals for various positions within the company. The response has been so robust that it has overloaded the company’s website, leading to widespread reports of a 404 error.

According to The PUNCH, NNPC has acknowledged the technical problems and is actively working to resolve them. The company issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) explaining the situation: “Due to unprecedented traffic to the NNPC Ltd. career page from applicants applying for vacancies, the site is currently experiencing slow load times. Our technicians are working diligently to rectify the problem as quickly as possible. Please be assured that the application process deadline remains August 20, 2024.”

This recruitment drive is anticipated to be the largest since NNPC’s transition to a limited company in 2022, underscoring the high level of interest in employment opportunities with the organization.
