NNPC raises petrol price to N835 in Lagos

NNPC Limited has raised the pump price of petrol to N835 per litre in Lagos and N839 per litre in Abuja.

On Wednesday, it was reported that NNPC Limited implemented the price adjustment across its retail outlets in the Federal Capital Territory.

The company also raised the pump price in Lagos by N50, from N785 per litre to N835 per litre.

The hike follows recent pricing adjustments by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, pointing to a new shift in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.

In Abuja, the latest change represents a N20 increase from the previous price of N815 per litre.

The move also mirrors revised pump prices at retail outlets within Dangote Refinery’s distribution network, after the refinery raised its ex-gantry price earlier in the week.

The latest pricing figures indicate a clear upward shift in petrol prices in Abuja following adjustments at the refinery level.

NNPC’s move appears to reflect rising upstream costs that have now passed through the supply chain.

NNPC raised the pump price of petrol in Abuja from N815 per litre to N839 per litre, marking a N20 increase.
Meanwhile, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery increased its ex-gantry price from N699 per litre to N799 per litre.

Following the adjustment, MRS retail outlets are now selling petrol at N839 per litre, up from N739 per litre.

In December 2025, Nairametrics reported that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery lowered its minimum petrol order from 500,000 litres to 250,000 litres.

The move enabled more oil marketers to buy fuel directly from the refinery at the then ex-gantry price of N699 per litre.
