The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority has announced that a new gas pricing pattern will be made public today following a review with President Bola Tinubu’s Energy adviser, Olu Verheijen.
The Nation reported that the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Farouk Ahmed announced the information at the Abuja headquarters’ official opening.
He stated that the necessary parties, including the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, have already been contacted by the authorities.
The business sector has also been consulted by NMDPRA, he continued, and they have all agreed with the new price formula.
He said: “Recently, we have been working with all the stakeholders in arriving at the domestic price for gas.
But I assure you that very soon after the review with the Adviser on Wednesday, we will release the new price for the gas sector.
“We have consulted with NERC and we have consulted with the commercial sector, and we have all agreed on the pricing. Today, we want to release the new price.”
