The employees of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency have called off their strike after the federal government intervened.
The workers had embarked on indefinite strike on Monday due to welfare concerns.
The strike is supported by three industry unions: the National Union of Air Transport Employees, the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees, and the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals.
In a circular to their members, the unions expressed that despite their strenuous efforts over the past few years to address the unjust pay disparities causing severe hardship and poverty among Nimet workers, these efforts have yet to yield meaningful results.
