Nigeria’s trade mission to US set for September

The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to lead a trade and investment mission to the United States from September 9 to 15.

In a statement on Tuesday, the chamber said the mission, themed “Flavours Without Borders,” will take place in Miami, Florida.

The statement was jointly signed by the Acting Director-General, Wofai and the Deputy President of the Chamber, Ehi Braimah.

According to the NACC, the initiative is aimed at deepening trade and investment ties between Nigeria and the United States.

“The mission will spotlight Nigeria’s vibrant portfolio of indigenous foods, spices, and value-added products while offering local exporters direct exposure to cutting-edge innovations in packaging, labelling, and regulatory compliance within the U.S. market.

“A key highlight of the mission includes participation in the American Food and Beverage Show in Miami, Florida.

“Some of the delegates will also attend the PACK EXPO in Las Vegas, one of the world’s premier exhibitions for packaging and food processing solutions.

“Attendees will enjoy high-impact activities such as a welcome networking dinner featuring African-American fusion cuisine, expert-led webinars on export readiness and U.S. compliance, a robust product showcase at the WTC Miami, and a guided tour of Miami’s Export Processing Zone in collaboration with Enterprise Florida,” the statement reads.

The chamber said participants will also take part in a business and leisure cruise along Biscayne Bay with U.S. trade representatives and industry stakeholders, before wrapping up the week at PACK EXPO in Las Vegas.

According to the NACC, the engagement offers a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge food safety technologies, automation systems, and packaging innovations essential for boosting Nigeria’s export competitiveness.

The initiative, it added, will promote technology and innovation transfer, strengthen Nigeria’s value chains, and showcase the country’s culinary and cultural identity on the global stage.

“With sectoral focus areas including agriculture, food and beverage, packaging, energy, and value-added consumer goods, the trade and investment mission reaffirms NACC’s role as a leading facilitator of commercial diplomacy between Nigeria and the United States,” she said.

The chamber also noted that American businesses stand to gain by expanding sourcing channels, introducing African consumer products to diaspora markets, and building dependable supply chain links with credible Nigerian exporters.
