Nigerians and South Africans have dominated the list of the most influential people in Africa in 2023.
The annual 100 Most Influential Africans list, released by New African Magazine, showcases exceptional people from a variety of professions, highlighting Africa’s talent and worldwide significance.
“The list also reflects the shifting trends and priorities in Africa, as the continent faces new challenges and opportunities in the post-pandemic era,” New African Magazine said in a statement.
Nigeria topped the 2023 list, with notable individuals recognized for their accomplishments including President Bola Tinubu, billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, football player Victor Osimhen, and musician Burna Boy.
The individuals in the list ranges in profession from scientists to politicians to businesspeople to artists, reflect the changing face of Africa in the wake of the pandemic.
The list also includes musician Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, and the president of the African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director-general of the World Trade Organization.
