Nigerian receives N7.5m in rewards after returning $14K mistakenly credited to him

A Nigerian youth, Anjola Femi, has become the subject of widespread admiration after returning $14,000 (over N21 million) that was mistakenly credited to his account by a foreign crypto trader attempting to send him a giveaway prize.

Upon realizing the error, the crypto trader, identified as @raffayalvi, immediately contacted Anjola to inform him of the mistaken transfer. Demonstrating integrity, Anjola promptly returned the substantial sum.

Anjola’s honest act has not only garnered praise but also financial rewards from the crypto community. As of the time of filing this report, netizens, impressed by his gesture, have rewarded him with over N7.5 million.

The chemical engineering graduate took to social media on Tuesday to share his excitement, showcasing his crypto wallet and the numerous credit alerts reflecting the influx of funds.

Anjola’s story began when he returned the $14,000 erroneously sent to his account by @raffayalvi. After the foreign trader publicized Anjola’s commendable action on X, a wave of support followed, with netizens requesting Anjola’s crypto wallet address to send him money.

Explaining his decision, Anjola stated, “I didn’t keep the money because it didn’t belong to me.” At the time of displaying his crypto wallet balance on X, the total credit gifts had reached over $5,000 (over N7.5 million).

In a video, Anjola recounted how the error occurred, revealing that he had initially won $100 (over N150,000) worth of Solana from the foreign trader. The video and subsequent honesty led to a chain of events that highlighted Anjola’s integrity and earned him significant rewards from a grateful online community.
