Tayo Aduloju has been named the next Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, beginning January 1, 2024.
This was disclosed by the organization in a statement on Wednesday.
The current CEO, ‘Laoye Jaiyeola, will be succeeded by Mr. Aduloju, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Fellow for Economic Policy, Strategy, and Competitiveness.
According to the statement, the NESG had advanced significantly by utilizing data and technology to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Nigeria while keeping its basic values of a free market economy, the rule of law, and governance in the interests of the country.
Niyi Yusuf, the chairman of the NESG Board of Directors, expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Jaiyeola for his selfless work and positive influence.
The team praised the new CEO’s great vision and experience.
“A distinguished scholar-practitioner, economist, policy entrepreneur, and strategist, he has significantly contributed to various reform initiatives, spanning sectors such as water, agriculture, finance, governance, maritime, and public service,” the statement read.
Mr. Aduloju has experience working with former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Yar’Adua, leading national public-private leadership forums for the NESG, and advancing sustainable development.
“The incoming CEO is well-qualified to guide NESG through its following phase because of his impressive academic background as an alumnus of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, University of Oxford, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.”
Additionally, Mr. Aduloju is the recipient of a number of honours, such as the Walden University 2022 Citizens Award for the College of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
He holds an Executive Certificate in Economic Development from the Harvard Kennedy School, a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economic Policy and Public Administration, and he is a graduate and alumnus of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
The Chief of Staff Association, the Institute of Strategic Management in Nigeria, and the Institute of Management Consultants in the United States are just a few of the prestigious professional organizations he is a fellow.
