The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria has unveiled discounted ticket prices to celebrate World Cinema Day on September 21, 2024.

This was disclosed by the National Chairman, Ope Ajayi, CEAN in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

Ajayi revealed that the initiative is designed to reward Nigerian cinema-goers for their loyalty and to promote a stronger cinema-going culture in the country.

He said on this special day, movie tickets will be available for as low as N1,000, a significant reduction from the typical average price of N4,000.

This event, now in its second year, aims to attract even more movie enthusiasts than the inaugural edition, making cinema more accessible to a broader audience.

Ajayi emphasized that the initiative serves both as a thank-you to Nigerian movie lovers and as a means to encourage increased cinema attendance.

He noted that the affordability of tickets for World Cinema Day provides a unique opportunity for individuals and families to enjoy quality entertainment at a fraction of the cost.

The inaugural World Cinema Day in 2023 saw a remarkable turnout of 21,500 moviegoers across the country, a success attributed to the affordability of tickets.

CEAN anticipates a similar or greater response this year, reinforcing the initiative’s impact on cinema participation.

Ajayi is confident that this year’s event will draw an even larger audience, as the discounted prices offer an accessible entertainment option for people from all walks of life.

The rising cost of movie tickets has long been a challenge for many Nigerians, restricting their access to cinema experiences.

The significant price reduction for World Cinema Day aims to tackle this issue, making cinema more affordable and accessible to the general public.
