President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has voiced confidence that his administration is on the right track despite the country’s issues, saying Nigeria has no excuse to disappoint the rest of the African continent.
The Special Adviser to the President, Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday.
As he welcomed visiting Bank of America officials to his office at the State House, the President said that his administration was dedicated to enacting changes that would foster the nation’s sustainable growth and development.
“So far, we believe we’re headed in the correct direction,” he said as he urged the bank’s management to support Nigeria and the financial institution by working together to achieve their mutual interests.
According to President Tinubu, fiscal and institutional reforms are necessary in order to address the nation’s governance and development issues.
“Actions on climate change, finance, and innovation are linked in the 21st century. It will be easier to implement reforms and address the difficulties if one has a strong platform and believes in innovation.
He declared, “Nobody will do it for us because this is the largest economy and democracy in Africa.”
The head of the delegation and president of Bank of America’s international division, Mr. Bernard Mensah, spoke enthusiastically about the first steps the new administration has taken in returning Nigeria to its proper position on the world stage.
According to him, the bank is ready to help the country deal with both its short-term and long-term problems by providing ideas as well as finance.
