Nigeria is entering an era of concrete highways - FG

Nigeria is progressively transitioning to the era of concrete roads, according to Minister of Works, David Umahi.

According to The Punch, Umhai pointed out that President Bola Tinubu was the one who first proposed concrete roadways.

Umahi allegedly made this statement while inspecting the ongoing dualization of the Calabar-Odukpani-Itu and Ikot-Ekpene Road, which crosses the states of Cross River and Akwa-Ibom.

Umahi expressed his pride in what he observed when touring the power plant section from Oku Iboku in Akwa Ibom State to Odukpani in Cross River State. The dualization project also involved building four bridges.

The minister declared, “The country is steadily transitioning to a new era of reinforced concrete roadways, known as the Renewed Hope Reinforced Concrete Agenda. We are going to put President Bola Tinubu’s idea into action.

“Sermatech is an indigenous contractor, and we are quite pleased with what he is accomplishing, the minister added as he praised the workers. “I want more local contractors to visit Sermatech and learn from them.”
