The 10th edition of Agrofood and Plastprintpack Nigeria brings together Nigerian and German stakeholders to enhance business development and knowledge exchange in agro-based investments.
Organized by Fairtrade Messe, the event celebrates a decade of innovation and growth in Nigeria’s agro-food, plastics, printing, and packaging industries.
Fairtrade Messe unveiled Germany as the Guest of Honour at the coming trade fair, stating, “Reflecting the partnership between Nigeria and Germany, this designation highlights German expertise in these sectors and provides opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and business development between German and Nigerian stakeholders.”
The organisers commended the success of the 2024 event, which featured former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and announced that the 2025 edition will take place in March in Lagos.
Fairtrade Messe revealed that the 2025 exhibition will feature over 100 top exhibitors from more than 15 countries, including national pavilions from China, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and South Africa. Key ministries at both federal and Lagos State levels will also play an active role in the event.
The organisers announced a three-day conference featuring over 70 speakers across 20+ sessions, along with a banking and finance segment that includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, and an investment pitch competition.
Fairtrade Messe also announced that the West African Cold Chain Summit and Exhibition will be co-located with Agrofood and Plastprintpack Nigeria, reinforcing its partnership with the Organisation for Technology Advancement of Cold Chain in West Africa.
Nigeria invested €304 million in food and packaging technology in 2023, making it Africa’s second-largest investor after South Africa (€398 million) and ahead of Egypt (€281 million), according to the German Engineering Federation.
Despite these investments, food imports totaled $6.1 billion in 2023, ranking Nigeria among Africa’s top food importers.
