President Bola Tinubu and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met on Sunday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and talked about the possibility of starting direct flights between Lagos, Nigeria, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
According to a statement released by the Senior Special Advisor to President Tinubu on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufo, President Lula da Silva emphasized the need for both governments to hold official talks to solve the lack of direct flights between Lagos and Sao Paulo.
President Lula da Silva again underlined the many chances for cooperation between the two countries in the aviation industry.
The President of Brazil stressed the need for improved academic ties between Nigeria and Brazil across academia, culture, commerce, agriculture, industry, and trade.
President Lula da Silva emphasized that trade between Nigeria and Brazil used to be valued at over $10 billion, but it is currently only $1.6 billion. Over the course of his final three years in government, he promised to strengthen bilateral relations.
