Nigerian Exchange Group Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Obehi Ikhaghe as Company Secretary, beginning April 13, 2023.
This is stated in a statement submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and signed by the CEO, Oscar N. Onyeoma, OON.
The statement read: “This is to inform Nigerian Exchange Limited and the Investing Public that Ms. Obehi Ikhaghe has been appointed as the Company Secretary of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, effective as of April 13, 2023, by the Board of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, at its meeting held on July 14, 2023.”
Following the resignation of the previous Company Secretary, Mrs. Mojisola Adeola, Ms. Ikhaghe was named as the acting Company Secretary in January 2023.
Ikhaghe is a lawyer with more than 14 years of expertise in the fields of corporate law, compliance, corporate governance, and company secretarial.
Ms. Ikhaghe was a Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for Lafarge Africa Plc’s Ready Mix and Aggregates Division before to joining Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.
She earned both a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the University of Lagos.

The Group was reported to have reported a 14.2% year-over-year fall in gross earnings to N1.6 billion from N1.8 billion registered in Q1 2022 in its unaudited results for the period ended March 31, 2023.
Due to an improved share of profit-equity accounted investees and a decrease in finance costs, profit before income tax expense increased by 21.5% YoY to N412.2 million in Q1 2023 from N339.2 million in a similar period in 2022 to N412.2 million.
