NGO signs MoU to train over 200 Nigerian youths

The Genoa and Genova consultant training institute and the Initiative for Youth Awareness on Migration, Immigration Development, and Reintegration have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide Nigerian adolescents with career training.

The Punch reported that the group’s goal is to provide Nigerian youth with more practical skills so they can help the country’s economy grow in a variety of industries and reduce youth unrest and unemployment.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday in Italy by the representatives of Genoa and Genova Consultant, Antonio Lovecchio and Mr. Maduka, as well as the executive director of IYAMIDR Nigeria and facilitator, Solomon Okoduwa.

Soon after the MoU was signed, Okoduwa noted in a statement that the engagement acted as a personnel intervention in oil and gas-related concerns.

Over 200 youths are anticipated to participate in the training, according to Okoduwa.

“We want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Ambassador Mfawa Abam of the Nigerian Embassy in Rome for his fatherly and patriotic support of this project,” he said.

“We truly appreciate the support we received from Dr. Bovi, the consular general at the Italian Embassy in Abuja, as well as the ambassador of Italy in Abuja. We sincerely appreciate your generous assistance in making this initiative a reality.

“This project is geared towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ in building confidence in the Nigerian youth and making Nigeria great again,” he added.

He went on to explain that the plan will train young people from Nigeria in welding and fabrication, ship dockyard, yacht maintenance, rail track installation, and maintenance, among other fields.

Antonio Lovecchio mentioned in his remarks that the project will aid in resolving the destiny of Nigerian youth.

He indicated that he was willing to work with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to advance his renewed hope agenda and change the country’s economic strategy for a better Nigeria.

In addition, the Director of Training and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Samuel Izekor, reaffirmed IYAMIDR’s commitment to completing the project and creating a better country despite a faltering economy.
