A New York man has admitted to distributing child pornography on the adult content platform OnlyFans. Matthew Richardson, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography in federal court.
According to court documents, Richardson met a 16-year-old girl at a grocery store and began a sexual relationship. He subsequently recorded himself engaging in sexual acts with the minor and uploaded the video to his OnlyFans account under the pseudonym Skylar Ravenwood.
Richardson faces a sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. His sentencing is scheduled for December 19.
The case against Richardson was part of a larger Reuters investigation into child sexual abuse material on OnlyFans. The investigation identified numerous instances of such content being shared on the platform.
OnlyFans has maintained that it prohibits child content and takes steps to remove it. However, the Richardson case highlights concerns about the platform’s ability to effectively monitor and prevent the distribution of illegal material.
