NBTI generates over 22,000 direct employment opportunities – DG

The National Board for Technology Incubation has said it generated over 22,000 direct employment opportunities through its community incubation centers nationwide since its establishment in 2005.

This was disclosed by the Director-General of NBTI Dr. Uchenna Chukwu in an interview in Abuja on Wednesday, according to nairametrics.

Chukwu pointed out that through its community incubation centres, the NBTI has helped to create over 22 000 directly employed jobs.

She stressed that any entrepreneur with verified research and development could get admission to all incubation centres in Nigeria.

She said that the Nigerian businesses would be nurtured till they grew and became self-sustaining.

In addition, Chukwu called on interested entrepreneurs to continually engage with the board as it aims for national development across its centers nationwide.

The NBTI boss said “The key action for national development is productivity as it enhances GDP and the general wellness of the citizenry.

“Continuous production of goods and services in quality and quantity is our daily activity in NBTI.

“NBTI is the only agency of government mandated to commercialise R&D results and the coordination and management of technology incubation programme in Nigeria.

“Productivity translates to improvement, progress, job creation, wealth creation, change for better, higher income, better living standards.”

She stated that until they can establish themselves as independent and viable enterprises, NBTI offers entrepreneurs a range of support services to help them grow and develop their different business and technological skills.
