Nationwide NIN enrolment gains momentum – NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission on Tuesday confirmed that its Ward-Level Enrolment Drive, which began on Monday, 16 February 2026, is making steady progress nationwide.

The decentralized initiative enables citizens and residents to obtain their National Identification Number at designated ward enrolment centres.

The commission emphasized that the NIN remains essential for accessing key government services in Nigeria and urged those yet to enroll to take part in the programme.

The Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, stated that the public should visit the NIMC website to locate the nearest enrolment centre, cooperate with officials, provide accurate information during registration, and follow NIMC’s official communication channels, including its social media accounts—for verified updates.

For pre-enrolment services, citizens can visit penrol.nimc.gov.ng, while data updates and modifications are available at selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.

The NINAUTH app, available on iOS and Android, also provides access to a range of digital identity services.

NIMC reiterated its commitment to achieving inclusive identity coverage nationwide and encouraged all citizens and residents to take full advantage of the ongoing enrolment drive.
