NAHCO secures FlyGabon partnership, extends airline contracts

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc has strengthened its position in the aviation sector by renewing key international airline contracts and securing a new partnership with FlyGabon, while also expanding into the export logistics market with the shipment of solar cells to the United States.

In a statement, the company announced that it had renewed its ground handling agreements with Qatar Airways, Saudia Airlines, and ASKY Airlines, while adding FlyGabon to its growing portfolio of airline partners.

NAHCO said its partnership with Qatar Airways has been renewed for another three years, extending a long-standing relationship under which the Middle Eastern carrier has consistently retained the company as its preferred ground handling service provider in Nigeria.

Saudia Airlines also renewed its ground handling contract with NAHCO for another five years, while regional carrier ASKY Airlines extended its partnership with the company for an additional three years, reaffirming their confidence in NAHCO’s service delivery and operational capabilities.

NAHCO has also signed a new three-year ground handling agreement with FlyGabon, coinciding with the airline’s entry into the Nigerian market as it expands air connectivity across West, Central, and Southern Africa.

Beyond its core aviation handling business, the company said it has diversified into export logistics with the shipment of solar cells from Nigeria to the United States, marking a significant milestone in its cargo operations.

According to NAHCO, the export programme began in January 2026 through BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE, with shipments handled through the company’s cargo facilities in Lagos.

The company said the solar cell exports were initially transported through leading international carriers, including Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and DHL. Shipments, ranging between 20 and 50 tonnes, were handled in collaboration with freight forwarding partners Access Freight and Ideal Royal.

NAHCO said it is providing end-to-end cargo handling services for the export programme, including cargo acceptance, warehousing, build-up, and export processing, while ensuring efficient aircraft handling and on-time departures.

The latest agreements further strengthen the company’s growing portfolio of airline partnerships. Earlier this year, NAHCO secured renewed and new contracts with Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and RwandAir, alongside other operators such as Sky 7, Pioneer, Avia Green, Benani, and the Aviation Clearing House.
