Italian-Senegalese TikTok star, Khaby Lame, has left the United States after allegedly overstaying his visa, according to a report by The New York Times

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that the 25-year-old social media personality was detained last Friday at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. In an official statement, ICE said Lame had entered the U.S. on April 30 but failed to comply with the terms of his visa.

Lame, widely recognized for his wordless comedic skits reacting to overly complicated life hacks, has amassed over 160 million followers on TikTok, making him the platform’s most-followed creator. His rise to international fame has led to collaborations with global fashion brands, a role in a Hollywood film, and a reality TV series titled Khaby Is Coming To America on the streaming service Tubi.

His deportation has ignited widespread debate online. Conservative influencer Bo Loudon, a Gen Z supporter of former President Donald Trump, took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim credit for Lame’s removal. “Every single illegal alien needs to be DEPORTED… When I found out the biggest TikTok star, Khaby Lame, is an illegal alien evading taxes, I worked with Trump’s ICE to have him removed,” Loudon wrote.

Lame has yet to release an official statement regarding the deportation. However, he posted an Instagram story on Monday tagged in São Paulo, Brazil, marking his first public location since leaving the U.S.

His former legal representative, Riccardo Lanzo, told The New York Times that Lame had spent substantial time in the U.S. recently, though he acknowledged there was uncertainty surrounding his visa status.

The incident comes amid a broader immigration crackdown under President Trump’s renewed administration.
