Operators of thr Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, on Tuesday, announced that there will be an increase in the cost of parking and lounge services.
According to The Punch, BASL stated that the decision had been put off for a while out of a strong sense of economic solidarity with those who used the airport terminals.
BASL also claimed that the decision was now unavoidable given the country’s changing economic circumstances as long as smooth and excellent operational goals were the goal.
The price adjustments, which go into effect on November 1st, 2023, only affect the rates for parking spaces and VIP lounges.
The Head of Spaces and Premises for BASL, Mr. Kola Bamigboye, stated that “Our car park tariffs have been revised to align with our ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade the facilities, ensuring a safe and convenient parking experience for our valued passengers.” The statement was signed by the Head, Corporate Communications Department, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi.
According to Bamigboye, the new car park price structure will consider users who stayed in the multi-story car park facility for less than 30 minutes, making it more practical for consumers.
Supervisor-In-Charge of Lounge Services at MMA2, Esther Ojeiwa, explained the reason for the lounge admission fee: in order to keep the lounge’s top-notch services, it has become necessary to upwardly review the access fee to the VIP walk-in lounge by 33.3 per cent.
She stated that the MMA2 VIP walk-in lounge was accessible to travelers seeking comfort and convenience, as it provided a serene environment to relax and unwind before boarding and takeoff of scheduled flights.
