Microsoft terminates support for Teams

Microsoft proposes relocation of Chinese staff over US-China tensions

Microsoft Message Center has announced the termination of support for Microsoft Teams, a legacy messaging infrastructure by Microsoft.

The company emphasized that to prevent service interruptions and other problems, it is crucial to stay current and use the most recent version of its software.

Microsoft states that by the end of March 2024, the chat messaging legacy service architecture will be rendered obsolete. Following that, chat messages in one-on-one, group, and channel chats may be delayed for Teams clients who have been with the service for over three months.

The change will impact Microsoft Teams Desktop, Teams on iOS and Android, and Virtual Desktop Interface clients. It won’t alter the functionality of Surface Hubs, phones, panels, meeting spaces, or the online version.

Microsoft released a brief tutorial on updating Teams to the most recent version on PCs and mobile devices in addition to the warning. IT administrators may make sure their clients are using the most recent version by providing them with this information.
