Meta’s latest artificial intelligence app, Muse, is showing early signs of strong user adoption, with new data suggesting it could become the social media giant’s next major hit.
According to newly released estimates from market intelligence firm Apptopia, Muse recorded more mobile downloads in its first 12 days than ChatGPT did during the first 12 days after its launch.
The comparison covers only the United States and Canada markets.
Apptopia also found that Muse had more daily active users than ChatGPT recorded during the same period following its debut.
Until now, comparing the two apps directly had been difficult because they followed different launch strategies.
ChatGPT was launched globally on mobile but was initially available only on Apple’s iOS. Muse, on the other hand, is available on both the App Store and Google Play, but only in the United States and Canada.
To create a more comparable dataset, Apptopia analysed iOS downloads in the US and Canada for both apps during their first 12 days after launch.
The data showed that Muse recorded 1.8 million downloads during the period, compared with 1.3 million for ChatGPT.
Overall, Muse recorded 2.8 million global installs during its first 12 days, according to Apptopia.
The app’s growth has also continued, with Muse rising from No. 2 on the US App Store shortly after its launch to No. 1, according to a report by Business Insider on Friday.
The ranking placed Muse ahead of ChatGPT on the App Store. Around the same period, analytics firm Appfigures reported that Muse had surpassed one million downloads.
