Meta’s apps, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Threads, faced widespread outages starting on Wednesday.
Users were unable to access the services, as reported by Downdetector.
Over 100,000 users reported issues with Facebook, marking the peak of the outages, according to Downdetector.
Meta acknowledged the outage in a post on X, stating that the company was “aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps.”
“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,” the X post added.
In a separate post on X, Instagram also acknowledged the outage, stating that the company was aware of a “technical issue impacting some people’s ability to access Instagram.”
Meta’s apps faced a two-hour outage in March 2024, coinciding with the Super Tuesday U.S. presidential primaries.
