Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is broadening its paid verification service for businesses, introducing three new tiers to the program that offer additional benefits to companies willing to invest in a monthly subscription.
This expansion comes after Meta initially introduced the service, known as Meta Verified, to businesses last autumn, following the rollout of a paid verification option for individuals.
The new plans, which are initially launching in Australia and New Zealand, provide a comprehensive array of services tailored to business owners reliant on Meta’s platforms.
Under the revamped structure, the entry-level “standard” plan is priced at $14.99 per month. It includes essential features such as a verification badge, enhanced search ranking, protection against impersonation, the ability to incorporate links into images, and access to customer support.
Each subscription is applicable to a single Facebook or Instagram account, with the program anticipated to extend to WhatsApp in the near future.
While the standard plan maintains the same price point for both individuals and businesses, companies opting for additional perks will face a significant premium.
Meta offers three supplementary tiers: the “plus” plan at $44.99 per month, the “premium” plan at $119.99, and the “max” plan at $349.99 monthly. These tiers encompass enhancements such as the capacity to add links to Reels posts, expedited customer support, and expanded profile customization options.
The highest-priced plan also extends impersonation protection to up to five employees, alongside extra customer service benefits. It incorporates a semiannual “account review,” providing personalized guidance on content strategy.
Moreover, account owners can request a phone call from a Meta customer service representative for assistance with account-related issues and other concerns.
During a briefing with journalists, Pratiti Raychoudhury, Meta’s VP of new monetization experiences, emphasized that the expansion of Meta Verified aims to cater to businesses at various stages of their journey on Meta’s apps. She indicated that Meta will continue refining its offerings in response to the growing number of businesses seeking verification.
