LASEPA seizes three Lagos tankers over illegal diesel sales

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, has seized three tankers selling Automative Gas Oil also known as diesel along Taslim Elias Close in Victoria Island.

The statement which was announced on Saturday via X revealed that they acted based on complaints from residents regarding illegal fuel sales in the area.

“The apprehended trucks were discovered at their illegal sales points, posing potential hazards to the community.

“LASEPA quickly intervened, in coordination with competent authorities, to halt the activities and minimize any environmental concerns related with such operations.”

It stated that the agency therefore urges locals to use its approved methods to report any suspicious or comparable criminal activity that can endanger the environment.

“LASEPA remains committed to upholding environmental standards and protecting the environment.”

Automotive Gas Oil, or AGO, is the name given to fuel intended for use in road vehicles (trucks, buses, vans and cars) powered by diesel engines.
