The Vice President & Chairman, Trade Promotion Board, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Leye Kupoluyi, has said the Lagos International Trade Fair will provide opportunities for cooperation in trade, industry, and investment among African countries.
He said this during a press briefing on the upcoming 36th 2022 Lagos International Trade Fair with the theme, ‘Connecting businesses, creating value’ scheduled to hold in November.
Kupoluyi said, “The Lagos International Trade Fair is positioned to promote economic integration, intra-African trade and Nigeria’s Foreign Direct Investment.
“The LITF has always been a platform for many African countries to interact. What we have done as Lagos International Trade Fair organiser is to organise all these African countries on different levels, promote them and interact with them in a single location.”
He said at the trade fair, a conducive environment would be created for local and international investors to network for possible investment opportunities.
According to him, there would be an opportunity for exhibitors from across African countries to explore opportunities for cooperation in trade, industry, and investment among themselves to promote the Africa Continental Free Trade Area initiative for economic integration and shared prosperity of the continent.
He said lessons learnt from the past years of innovative exhibitions would be put into use to ensure a hitch-free exhibition.
As it was done last year, he said, the trade fair ground would be covered with CCTV and the organisers were working with all relevant security outfits to achieve a peaceful trade fair.
“We are working to improve all the facilities that would make the trade fair a hitch-free event,” he said.
Kupoluyi also said the chamber was committed to giving visibility to the latest innovations in goods, services and technology by its exhibitors.
The Director-General, LCCI, Chinyere Almona, said, “This year, there will be a lot of African countries at the trade fair. So, you will see a new and improved Africa Hall because the African countries will come together to showcase their goods and services, and we can promote African trade and commerce across Africa.”
The Chairman, Operations Committee, LITF, Opeyemi Aminu, said all necessary provisions were being put in place to ensure fair would be safe and enjoyable.
