The appointment of Mr. Lolu Alade-Akinyemi as the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Company with effect from July 1, 2023, has been made public by the Board of Directors of Lafarge Africa Plc.
Nairametrics reported that the position was filled in response to Mr. Khaled El-Dokani’s departure as the Company’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer with effect from June 30, 2023.
Following changes to the Company’s Management, the Company informed the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public of this.
Before this appointment, Mr. Alade-Akinyemi served as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Director of Supply Chain, according to the notice signed by, General Counsel & Company Secretary, Adewunmi Alode.
On April 8th, 2020, he was appointed to the Board as an Executive Director.
Alade-Akinyemi has more than 20 years of cross-functional experience in sales, business development, supply chain, and finance.
As a seasoned business executive, he has achieved success in turnaround situations, process transformation to improve corporate performance, supporting growth in difficult business settings, and overseeing profit & loss.
He worked for the Coca-Cola Company for 16 years, spending time in the UK, Belgium, Ghana, and Nigeria where he assumed increasing levels of responsibility in finance, business development, supply chain, and sales. He was also the Finance Director of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc for four years before joining Lafarge in 2014.
He began his work at ExxonMobil as a trainee. Lolu Alade-Akinyemi is a professional accountant who also possesses an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School in the UK and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Essex.
