Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi officially presented the 2026 budget proposal to the state legislature.
This significant event took place on Tuesday at the state House of Assembly complex, located in Dutse, the state capital.
The presentation ceremony was a major gathering, attracting a wide array of prominent figures. Those in attendance included top government officials, key politicians, respected traditional rulers, numerous APC loyalists from across the state, various community-based organisations, and representatives from NGOs who support state initiatives.
Governor Namadi, presenting the detailed budget to the Assembly, physically handed over the substantial document. In his declaration, he stated, “This N901.8billion blueprint isn’t just numbers, it’s our roadmap to transform Jigawa through infrastructure, education, and jobs, ensuring no one is left behind in our march to prosperity.”
He further emphasised the administration’s focus, stating, “We’ve prioritised agriculture and security to build on our gains, inviting all stakeholders to make this budget a reality for our people.”
The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatim, accepted the 2026 fiscal year documents amid applause from the floor. In his response, he welcomed the proposal, noting, “On behalf of this assembly, we welcome this forward-thinking proposal, it’s comprehensive and people-focused, and we’ll scrutinise it thoroughly to deliver swift passage for Jigawa’s brighter future.”
Speaker Dangyatim also commended the Governor’s focus, saying, “Your administration’s commitment shines through; together, we’ll turn these plans into tangible wins for every citizen.”
