Indian software services exporter, Infosys has made a significant move by signing a five-year deal worth $2 billion to provide artificial intelligence and automation services to an undisclosed client.
The agreement encompasses the development, modernization, and maintenance of AI and automation-related services, BNN reported.
This landmark deal highlights the growing significance of AI in the corporate sector.
The introduction of OpenAI’s generative chatbot, ChatGPT, in late 2022 had a groundbreaking impact globally.
Since then, companies worldwide have been investing heavily in AI to remain competitive in the digital realm.
Infosys’ strategic decision follows Tata Consultancy Services’ plan to certify 25,000 engineers on Microsoft’s Azure Open AI platform and Wipro’s ambitious commitment of injecting $1 billion into AI over the next three years.
Infosys, headquartered in Bengaluru, has also made advancements in the AI field with the launch of its generative AI platform, Infosys Topaz, in May.
Further insights into Infosys’ strategic direction and performance will likely be unveiled when the company announces its first-quarter results on July 20.
