Champion Breweries Plc has named Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob as the new director and the new acting chairman of the company.
This information was provided in a formal statement sent to Nigeria Exchange Limited and signed by the company secretary, Chief Tosan Atle Aiboni.

“With effect from July 27, 2023, Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob has been appointed as a director and the new acting chairman of Champion Breweries Plc (the “Company”).
Ibom Airlines Limited (Ibomair) currently has Imo-Abasi serving as the board’s chairman.
He previously held the position of Executive Director (Operations), responsible for entrepreneurship & business development, project management & implementation, and investment promotion & appraisal. He is also the Managing Director/CEO of Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation.
He was the managing partner of Imo-Abasi Jacob & Co [Chartered Accountants] and the president of Haggai Business School.
He has over 41 years of professional experience, including time as a Partner in the audit practice at the defunct Andersen with oversight of the financial services sector and as the Director of RAITAS Consulting.
He is also a skilled business educator, management consultant, and accountant.
He has created numerous core value training programs and produced numerous publications in this field. He holds certifications as a financial planner and presenter.
He served as the chairman of the privatization committee while a member of the Akwa Ibom Investment and Industrial Promotion Council.
He served as the Chairman of Akwa Savings and Loans Limited [Mortgage Bankers] Ltd. and a Director at Ibom Power Company Limited. He has served on numerous corporate boards in Nigeria.
He now serves as chairman of the boards of Akwa Savings and Loans Ltd., Omega Butler Marginal Field Ltd., Ibom Hotels & Golf Resort, Ibom Fadama Microfinance Bank, and Anchor Insurance Company Limited.
Imo-Abasi is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a Bsc Management Studies Honours graduate.
He has taken numerous courses locally and abroad and is a member of numerous professional organizations.
