Ikeja Electric Distribution Company has made a significant announcement regarding its electricity tariff, particularly for customers categorized under Band A.
Effective immediately, the tariff for Band A customers has been reduced from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh.
This decision was communicated through a circular issued by the company’s management on Monday.
The circular outlined the revised tariff and assured customers of 20 to 24 hours of electricity supply within this Band. However, it emphasized that the tariff for customers in other categories will remain unchanged.
The statement from IKEDC read in part, “Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh effective May 6, 2024, with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily. The tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.”
This adjustment comes after the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission previously approved an increase in electricity tariff for Band A customers, raising it to N225 per kilowatt-hour from the previous N66.
