Leading power distribution company Ikeja Electric Plc recently agreed to a partnership for the delivery of specially designed electricity cables for its network with two recognised Original Equipment Manufacturers, Messrs. Kabelmetal Nigeria Plc and Nigerchin Limited.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric, Folake Soetan, expressed her excitement over the company’s efforts in realising this laudable feat during the official sign-off at the company’s corporate headquarters.
She noted that it was a step in the right direction as it would help Ikeja Electric in areas of steady energy growth as the prompt and regular supply of cables and associated materials would help the company to clear faults and deliver faster services.
She claimed that the strategic alliance between Kabelmetal Nig Ltd. and Nigerchin Ltd. is the first of its type in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, in which manufacturers would agree to provide specially made cables to a DisCO.
She said this arrangement will undoubtedly go a long way towards guaranteeing a cordial relationship and more substantial economic interactions between IE and the two enterprises.
The managing director of Kabelmetal Nig Ltd., Eric Waldner, and the general manager of Nigerchin Ltd., Sunil Kumar, both expressed optimism in their remarks regarding the signing of the agreement, noting that it was the first time they were entering into such an agreement with a DisCO.
They also assured Ikeja Electric of their full support and collaboration in the prompt delivery of materials.
