Following significant disruptions for clients on Black Friday, HSBC’s online and mobile banking services have been restored.
The bank claimed that a problem with its “internal systems” was the cause of the problems, which started just after 8 a.m. on the popular shopping day.
After beginning to resume late on Friday, services were back up and running early on Saturday.
In a statement on X, HSBC expressed its regret for the issues, stating that they were “deeply frustrating for many of our customers.”
“We’re really sorry to those impacted and we’ll continue to monitor systems closely,” it added.
Throughout Black Friday, the bank regularly updated its website, but some customers demanded payment.
Debit and credit cards had been operating normally during the downtime, according to HSBC.
