Google has launched a suite of new tools for classroom management, enhanced accessibility, and AI-powered capabilities for generating questions and crafting lesson plans.
Google’s Classroom already enables teachers to append questions to YouTube videos within assignments. The tech giant announced that soon, AI will offer question suggestions at various points in the video. This feature was initially introduced in June 2023 but initially required teacher applications for access.
Google also expanded the capabilities of its Practice sets feature, now employing AI to generate answers and hints in over 50 languages.
Moreover, Google’s generative AI tool for Google Workspace, Duet AI, is poised to aid educators in devising lesson plans.
Google disclosed forthcoming updates enabling teachers to create distinct groups within Classroom later this year, along with the ability to allocate different assignments to these groups.
Additionally, the speaker spotlight function in Slides will allow educators to pair narrations with their slide presentations.
Updates to Classroom analytics are also on the horizon, offering insights into trends in assignment completion and grades.
Enhancements to Google Meet include the addition of closed captions in 30 languages and the functionality to pin multiple hosts.
