Google has begun the global rollout of its latest video generation model, Veo 3, making the AI-powered tool available to Gemini users in over 159 countries, the tech giant announced on Thursday.
The advanced model, first unveiled in May, allows users to create short videos — up to eight seconds in length — using simple text prompts. However, access to the feature is currently limited to subscribers of Google’s AI Premium Plan, with a daily cap of three videos per user.
Veo 3 is part of Google’s broader push into generative video technology, positioning the company to compete in the fast-evolving space of AI-powered creative tools.
Josh Woodward, a Google executive leading the initiative, said the company is also working to expand Veo’s capabilities to include image-to-video generation, which would allow users to animate static images using AI.
The launch comes as major tech firms race to integrate generative video features into their platforms, with Google joining the likes of OpenAI’s Sora and other cutting-edge AI models aimed at transforming the way users create and consume visual content.
