Google released the AI-powered app NotebookLM for users in the United States who are older than 18 during the I/O event in 2023.
This application primarily uses Google’s internal AI systems, such as PaLM 2 and Gemini Pro. It’s not on a waiting list, but it is still experimental.
This allows NotebookLM to assess and provide options as you see fit when you upload your documents or copy and paste your material.
Based on the uploaded document, NotebookLM may automatically make summaries, construct study aids, prepare newsletters, and outline questions and suggestions for follow-up.
These features make use of the new AI tools from Google. Its programming should allow it to deconstruct the submitted papers’ technical elements so the reader can understand them.
Here’s where its machine learning powers come into play since Google will also need to minimize the amount of generated content that needs to be corrected—which often causes more harm than good.
Naturally, Google will continue to introduce fresh concepts to NotebookLM that might be helpful to many other users.
Google has already experimented with note-taking applications. Because it has ‘Keep,’ even though it’s an experiment, it begs the question of why it shouldn’t just integrate its AI-powered features.
