The CONNAK Foundation has given 150 graduates entrepreneurial training in an effort to lower unemployment in the South-West region.
The Punch reported that the participants came from the six states in the region for the one-week boot camp, which was held in Osogbo, Osun State.
The trainees were instructed in various modules on financial management, ethics, and business acumen, according to the general manager of CONNAK Foundation, Rosemary Etsiame.
She continued by saying that after the training, the participants were required to create business proposals that would be evaluated, with the top ones being chosen and given support.
She continued, “We understand that most graduates have picked up some business skills in the classroom, but those are not the necessary abilities. It is rumored that new businesses in Nigeria fold up after about two years.
That usually happens because the operators are not grounded in the financial management to keep their business afloat. “The participants are currently proposing their company ideas; we will analyze them and choose the finest ones.”
That was the foundation’s way of helping the Nigerian economy, according to Etsiame.
