Air Peace management responded to reports of a fire incident involving one of its aircraft in Lagos on Thursday, firmly asserting that the “alarm was falsely triggered, and there was no fire.”
The incident occurred aboard flight P47193 from Port Harcourt to Lagos and was swiftly resolved with no adverse consequences, the airline’s management informed ARISE News.
In a statement released, the airline clarified, “We wish to inform the flying public of an incident that occurred during our Port Harcourt-Lagos flight P47193 of today, April 25, 2024. Some minutes before landing, our Captain noticed a fire warning indicator in the cockpit.” The pilots followed all safety protocols, and the fire indicator ceased. The Captain promptly alerted the Operations Control Center in Lagos at 17:37hrs.
Upon landing, it was determined that the alarm was falsely triggered, with no actual fire event. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers disembarked without incident.
