The World Bank will provide $100 million to the Federal Government to launch an initiative aimed at empowering women economically.
The Times stated that, President Bola Tinubu P-BAT Cares for Nigerian Women project is an effort that seeks to improve the lives of women in the nation and increase their productivity in a variety of fields.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, provided this information at a briefing following a solidarity walk with women’s organizations in Abuja in observance of the 2024 International Women’s Day commemoration.
Kennedy-Ohanenye explained that “In addition to other initiatives like the Integrity Brigade and the Nigeria for Women project, the President would formally introduce the P-BAT Cares for Nigerian Women project.”
The main goals of these programs are to empower women and promote their active involvement in the advancement of society.
In order to make sure that initiatives and programs reach the disadvantaged populations they are intended to assist, she asked the media to play a critical role in monitoring them. The minister emphasized the government’s dedication to women’s empowerment and sustainability.
