As regional groups across the country continue to condemn the hardship faced by citizens, attributed to the removal of fuel subsidy and the foreign exchange crisis which has led to food inflation and high transport cost.
According to The Punch, President Bola Tinubu, will hold an emergency meeting with state governors at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja to tinker on ways to resolve the lingering economic crisis in the country.
Two officials privy to informations in the presidency confided in a reporter of The Punch, stated that, the meeting with the governors would be held before the president jets out to Ethiopia for the African Union meeting.
Recall, the elected governors on the platform of the People Democratic Party compared Nigeria under Tinubu’s administration to that of Venezuela, a South American nation in extreme economic situation, escalating starving, diseases, crime and high mortality rates.
However, in response, the presidency criticized the governors, stating their failures to pay salaries, pensions and the #30,000 minimum wage.
Protest had broken out in different parts of the country with citizens, demanding an end to the economic crisis
