The Federal Government has committed to working with the top consulting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, in implementing the seven-point roadmap to reform the industry. This commitment is being made through the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Special Assistant for Media to the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Segun Tomori, the combined effort would turn the solid minerals industry into the nation’s largest source of income.
The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, welcomed PWC Partner on Mining, Habeeb Jaiyeola to his office and thanked the company for its participation in the first phase of the bitumen concession scheme and the recently concluded Nigerian Mining Week.
Alake commended PwC for its contributions to the mining industry over the years and promised that PwC’s knowledge and suggestions will be taken into account while reforming the industry and putting the 7-point agenda into action.
He claimed that in an effort to reposition the country for long-term development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was concentrating on the sector as a game-changer.
