The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Azare Consulting to enhance innovation and regulatory compliance in Nigeria’s gaming industry.
This was disclosed by the Hon. Minister of Innovation, Science & Technology of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Uche Nnaji during the official signing ceremony in Abuja.
Nnaji stated that the partnership with Azare Consulting is a crucial step toward strengthening Nigeria’s gaming industry by establishing a reliable technological framework.
“This partnership is a bold step toward establishing a robust technological framework that will enhance the efficiency, credibility, and sustainability of Nigeria’s gaming industry,” he said.
The agreement aims to establish a clear legal framework for regulating Nigeria’s gaming sector. By enforcing strict compliance, it seeks to eliminate unlicensed operations and fraudulent practices, promoting transparency, fairness, and investor confidence in the industry.
The agreement also seeks to create new revenue opportunities in the gaming industry by fostering a structured, investment-friendly environment. By attracting global partnerships and international investors, Nigeria aims to position itself as a key player in the global gaming market, driving economic growth and job creation.
Additionally, it includes training and capacity-building programs to further strengthen the sector and enhance industry expertise.
The Director General of NOTAP, Dr. Lady Obiageli Amadiobi, called the agreement a vital step in modernizing Nigeria’s gaming industry.
Amadiobi emphasized its role in ensuring that technology adoption aligns with the country’s economic and regulatory goals.
Saadatu Hamu, representing Azare Consulting, highlighted the partnership’s transformative impact on Nigeria’s gaming industry, stating “This collaboration will bring structural integrity and global best practices to Nigeria’s gaming sector, enhancing transparency and investor confidence.”
