The Debt Management Office, on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, has opened its September 2026 Savings Bond offer, with investors set to earn annual interest rates of up to 15.12 per cent.
The DMO announced the offer in a circular issued on Monday.
According to the circular, the September offer comprises a two-year Savings Bond maturing on September 16, 2028.
The subscription period opened on September 7, 2026, and will close on September 11, while settlement is scheduled for September 16.
According to the DMO, interest on the bonds will be paid quarterly on December 16, March 16, June 16 and September 16, while the principal will be repaid in full at maturity.
The September offer comprises a two-year bond maturing on September 16, 2028, with an annual interest rate of 14.12 per cent and a three-year bond due on September 16, 2029, offering 15.12 per cent per annum.
The FGN Savings Bond is targeted at retail investors seeking exposure to a government-backed investment instrument, offering quarterly interest payments and a defined maturity date.
The latest offer follows the DMO’s raising of N5.86bn through the FGNSB in August 2026, down from N6.19bn raised in July, suggesting softer investor demand during the month.
Earlier, the DMO unveiled an FGN Bond auction plan of about N4tn for the third quarter of 2026.
Under the plan, the offer ranges were significantly widened, with between N600bn and N800bn available for each of the two instruments.
The September 14 auction will retain the same two-bond structure, with N600bn to N800bn on offer for each bond.
Across the quarter, total bond offerings amounted to approximately N4tn, based on the lower end of the disclosed offer ranges.
