FIRS announces new TAXPR-MAX platform for CbCR

The Federal Government has authorized a new organizational structure for the Federal Inland Revenue Service to improve operations.

The agency announced this on Monday in a statement signed by the Special Adviser Media to the Executive Chairman of FIRS, Dare Adekanmbi.

It announced that it would be undertaking a massive restructure.

He claimed that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, will present the new structure at the FIRS’s two-day strategic management conference in Abuja.

According to Adekanmbi, the purpose of the meeting is to ensure that all directors are fully informed and aligned with the agency’s strategic direction.

He continued, “The retreat will also engage with external stakeholders in government, professional bodies, and the organized private sector to discuss the renewed and refocused strategy of the FIRS.”

The retreat’s subject is “Reimagining Tax Administration for Equity and Economic Growth”.

Adekanmbi continued, “The Chairman of the FIRS, Zacch Adedeji, has been pushing a fundamental overhaul in the agency’s ideals since taking office. His objective is to make the FIRS more taxpayer-centric and an effective revenue-collecting organization.”

President Bola Tinubu had begun measures aimed at increasing government revenue to pay the country’s infrastructure requirements.

Meanwhile, FIRS has disclosed plans to raise tax revenue collection by 57%, to N19.4 trillion.
