In a move aimed at enhancing passenger experience, the Federal Government has declared that air travelers passing through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja can now access complimentary Wi-Fi services.

Mr. Tunde Moshood, the Special Assistant to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, confirmed this development on Sunday, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving airport facilities and services.

Moshood also revealed ongoing plans to extend free Wi-Fi services to other airports across the nation, emphasizing the alignment of this initiative with one of Keyamo’s key agendas.

“Both local and international flyers can now enjoy free Wi-Fi in Lagos and Abuja, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Murtala Muhammed International Airport (Terminal 1 & Terminal 2),” Moshood announced. “Stay connected, surf the web, and make your journey smoother.”

He further encouraged travelers to look for the “NCC Free Airport Wi-Fi” network and utilize the service to access various online activities, including streaming music and downloading favorite shows on platforms like Netflix.

Highlighting the government’s dedication to infrastructure enhancement across all airports, Moshood reiterated that the initiative aligns with the Minister’s agenda of improving aviation facilities nationwide.

Previously, Keyamo had attributed the absence of airport Wi-Fi to bureaucratic challenges between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency. However, this issue was swiftly addressed by assigning Wi-Fi provision responsibilities to NAMA.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, Keyamo assured travelers of forthcoming complimentary Wi-Fi access at airports and disclosed ongoing discussions with international firms to introduce in-flight Wi-Fi services.

Keyamo stressed that these initiatives are in line with global aviation standards and are intended to boost passenger connectivity and comfort during flights.
