More than 8,000 Civil Servants working in the Federal Capital Territory Administration are scheduled to sit for promotion examinations this week.
The promotion examinations are set to take place over five days, beginning on Tuesday, November 25, and concluding on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The venue for the exercise is the National Open University Study Centre located along Kubwa Road, Abuja.
The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, confirmed on Sunday that the over 8,000 civil servants participating in the exercise cut across 165 different cadres.
Ezeh explained that the FCT Minister, as part of his commitment to staff motivation, approved the request submitted by the FCT Civil Service Commission to quickly conclude the 2024 promotion exercise for FCT/FCDA workers across all available cadres.
He further stated that the promotion examination will be conducted using the Computer-Based Test format. This approach, he added, will deepen the newly introduced digital platform for promotion examinations that was officially approved by the FCT Minister.
Ezeh reminded the public of the FCT’s pioneering role, saying: “Recall that the FCT under the leadership of Barr. Nyesom Wike blazed the trail as the first Commission in Nigeria to conduct his promotion by CBT.”
He concluded by citing previous success, stating: “The Minister had, in August 2025, approved the promotion of 49 directors, who were successful in the CBT examination conducted by the Commission.”
